Way-Koo-Paw is 38 yrs old and is a school teacher at the Forgotten School. She has 5 years of teaching experience in Mae Lah Refugee Camp. She has been married to Pa-Ja for 18 years and they have two beautiful children. Her and her family have lived in Thailand for over 30 years and are all Christians. They have never lived outside of the Mae Lah Refugee Camp. They have never had any opportunity to live outside of the camp and Way-Koo-Paw was overjoyed when the opportunity to teach at Forgotten School was presented. In the camp the family stated they have no future and they do not feel free. Their entire life for the most part has been monitored by Thai military and police and she loves to be able to live and work in a more free feeling environment, yet still be safe from the war in Burma.
