Merry Christmas from Forgotten Land

Emily, Jon, and I arrived in Forgotten land last night after a long bus ride and being jostled in the truck for 3 hours. We got to wake up to the sound of roosters and children with the view of a beautiful mosquito net this morning (Manat says this town has the most malaria in all of Thailand. Thanks for making us feel welcome). We’re here!
The 5 little girls that stay at Forgotten house were really excited to see Emily, and Manat says they have been practicing saying her name for a while. It’s really cute.

Manat wanted us to go to Mae Uhu to watch him preach, but we joined pastor Stephen this morning and went to another village for church – mostly because Stephen is a ninja and I don’t want to get on his bad side. We had a Proclaimer listening group in Karen and Stephen sang songs and prayed in Thai. It was actually really fun to be a part of considering I didn’t understand most of anything going on.

We came back and walked around Forgotten Land. It is pretty large. I can’t explain how excited I am to be here and see it first hand. We were able to talk to a bunch of the people and we had a chat with a new family that is in the process of building a house.

As I’m writing this, Jon is telling me that we have to go or else we’ll be late for the Christmas celebration that we are throwing for all 35 families here.  So gotta go.

Merry Christmas!
